Dramaturgy

Welcome to Dramaturgy in Region 1. If you are new to Dramaturgy at KCACTF there are a number of ways to get involved at festival, including submitting your work for consideration for the national or regional awards, participating in professional development workshops, and working on new play development.

If you have worked as a dramaturg in class, on a production at your college, or if you simply have an interest in the field, join us
for the opportunity to showcase your dramaturgy, meet dramaturgy professionals, act as dramaturg on a new play at festival, and have your work responded to and considered for the LMDA/KCACTF National Award and the KCACTF Program Note Regional Award.

Collaborate with student directors, designers, and playwrights in process workshops and activities designed to strengthen skills and knowledge of the work of production and educational dramaturgs. Experience page to stage. Sign up as an NPP New Play Dramaturg for the festival and work on new play development. Dramaturgs will collaborate with playwright, director and actors on a public reading of a new play. You will be a script reader and part of the production team.

I look forward to seeing what the Region 1 Dramaturgs have been working on. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, and I hope to see you at festival!
