I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in a household of music. My dad is a songwriter and musician, and his main job was playing in his rock/country band 6 nights a week throughout my entire childhood. I started teaching myself piano by ear at age 4, started formal lessons at age 8, and just kept going. Along the way I tried my hand at being on stage in musicals such as OLIVER and BRIGADOON, but it was when I first played keyboard for OKLAHOMA when I was in high school that I realized where my true strength for musical theatre lies, and my love for musical theatre was solidified. Although the first 15 or so years of my music career was mainly piano and choral related, musical theatre was always there as a "backup," and where I found much of my enjoyment of playing and conducting. I realized about 10 years ago that I've always conducted my choirs from a theatre lens, and since then enabling storytelling through song has become one of my great passions.
