Wunee keesuq, good day. My name is Siobhan Juanita Brown and my given name is keesuty8ee elm, growing elm. I am Beaver Clan. I was born in Roxbury, MA and currently reside on my ancestral homelands of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe. I am the daughter of George and Arnise Brown who raised me with an early awareness of spiritual values, practices and healing demonstrations. I am a storyteller, peacemaker, language enthusiast, Indigenous educator and arts advocate. My love for theatre comes from my family and my upbringing of fluid intersectionality: sage, collards, prayer, round dance, concrete, the woods, diggin for clams, dudley station now Nubian Square, Academy homes, Mashpee wetu, english and now Wôpanâak. I am drawn to stories that interrogate and liberate humanity and bring an end to the active erasure of Indigenous people and people of color.
