Jay Are Adams

As an educator, musician, comedian, actor, and military veteran, Jay Are strives to create art that entertains and makes a positive impact on the world. His love of music started with singing in his church's youth choir, which he later directed. Inspired by Homer Simpson (Yes! That Homer Simpson), in which he tried to play Lisa’s instrument, he started playing the alto sax in middle school. He later went on to play trombone, tuba, trumpet, in addition to having the honor of playing upright bass for the Beverly Hills Junior Philharmonic. In his 10 years as a professional comedian, his accomplishments include being featured on Kevin Hart’s “Hart of the City” Season 2 on Comedy Central, and helping to raise over $6 million as branch manager and performer for Funny4Funds, a national comedy night fundraising organization. He can be seen in comedy clubs all over New England with his hilariously insightful humor. As an actor, Jay Are started his theatre career at the Community College of Rhode Island where he fell in love with Shakespeare, performing in Hamlet and Macbeth. Following that experience he has performed with local theatre companies and community theatres in Rhode Island. Jay Are has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Trident University and a Master’s in Theatre Education from Emerson College.
