Arts Administration & Leadership

The field of Arts Administration & Leadership encompasses a broad range of talents and responsibilities. While arts administrators often work in the non-profit sector, for producing theatres and presenting groups, for arts councils, and for museums, careers can also be found in for-profit organizations, in theatre, the music industry, galleries and other arts organizations.

At KCACTF Region 1, we are committed to supporting students with an interest in these areas with events and opportunities that will strengthen their skills and marketability.

The Arts Admin Internship program is centered on the organization and support of the in person Festival experience, front of house management and registration.

What to Expect

Arts Admin Interns should plan to arrive on by 2:00 pm Monday 1/30 to meet each other, learn about the logistics of the week, prepare registration materials and plan their schedules.

The internship schedule may include serving as ushers for shows, staffing the information desk, attending workshops and facilitating student feedback.

It is possible for interns to also participate in other programs such as the Musical Theatre Scholarship Auditions, Irene Ryan Scholarship Auditions, the Design/Tech/Management Expo, etc.

Registration fees are waived for interns, and housing (shared hotel room) is available if your school cannot provide it.
