Arts Administration & Leadership

The field of Arts Administration & Leadership encompasses a broad range of talents and responsibilities. While arts administrators often work in the non-profit sector, for producing theatres and presenting groups, for arts councils, and for museums, careers can also be found in for-profit organizations, in theatre, the music industry, galleries and other arts organizations.

At KCACTF Region 1, we are committed to supporting students with an interest in these areas with events and opportunities that will strengthen their skills and marketability. Highlights include:

  • Arts Administration Internships Students who wish to participate in “behind the scenes” conference planning and facilitation can sign up as Arts Administration Interns. For 2021, this may mean attending specialized training on our virtual event platform, becoming virtual “hosts” in certain sessions, contributing to social media contests and engagement, and learning new ways of creating an event “environment” in a virtual setting.
  • ASPIRE KCACTF/LORT Leadership Program  Students with career interests in Theatre Management, Producing, Artistic Direction, Development and Executive Director-ships may submit a preliminary entry to the ASPIRE Leadership program.
  • And many workshops – hear from current professionals working in the areas of arts administration, marketing, development and management.
