Student Representatives

Job Category: Student Leadership Opportunities
Job Type: Volunteer

Members of the Student Advisory Board meet regularly with Student Representatives to discuss the priorities of the students within Region 1. The Student Advisory Board then communicates this input with the Leadership Board.

This newly formed group is actively seeking students to represent their school and the interests of performers, designers, technicians, directors, playwrights, arts leaders, members of underrepresented groups and more. At this time, one student representative per school affiliated with KCACTF will be accepted.

Your role as a student representative will be to become the link between your school and the KCACTF Region One Student Advisory Council for the 2023 Regional Festival. Attendance at monthly meetings, or watching a recording of those meetings within up to 48 hours post release, is expected, to provide input and to receive important information for your school.

Qualifications: Students must be enrolled at least part time in an institution of higher learning. They should be in good academic standing and be generally permitted by their institution to participate in extra-curricular activities.

We are seeking members that represent a diverse array of lived experiences, including, but not limited to race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, gender identity, educational background and more.

Term of Service: Student Representatives generally serve for one Festival “year,” provided they regularly attend meetings. If the representative wishes to continue for another Festival year, they may do so, as long as there are no other candidates from that institution. If more than one student from the same school wishes to serve, the Student Advisory Board and the Region 1 RED team will interview the candidates and make a selection.

Welcome candidates!

We are seeking candidates from diverse backgrounds, including race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, gender identity, sexual orientation as well as areas of creative specialty/interest. Please include a brief personal statement that addresses the ways in which your lived experiences might enhance or support diversity within Region 1.
